In this wrist piece I have folded the strength giving curves found in arches into a sheet of silver. It is combined with rubber cord to soften the hard lines of the piece. The blue pigment is there to draw your eye into the volume crated.
Strong lines Arches are inherently strong their shape makes it possible to span wider areas with less supports and less material I want to explore its strength to find curves that can be used to make jewellery with strong lines. Steel cable is an extremely strong material that is used in bridges to span great distances I want to see how I can use this strong line to make jewellery.
