Strong lines
Arches are inherently strong their shape makes it possible to span wider areas with less supports and less material I want to explore its strength to find curves that can be used to make jewellery with strong lines. Steel cable is an extremely strong material that is used in bridges to span great distances I want to see how I can use this strong line to make jewellery.

Catenary arch
The Tāq-i Kisrā is a Persian monument built Iraq It was damaged in floods in 1888 and was busy being restored before the 1st gulf work broke out it differs from later western arches in that it is a parabolic arch which is much stronger.
